A December to Remember, Part 1

According to Riley, December 2020 has gone by in a flash. I agree, to a certain extent. We actually did so much this month, that it feels longer than just one month. It is definitely one I want to remember.

Goodbye School. Hello Christmas Break!

Reagan and I had our last two weeks at DCA. It was bittersweet. I am excited about the future in Alabama, but we are both so sad to walk away from school/work. The last week of school was a busy one. On Monday night, we watched Hayden perform in the show choir. And on Tuesday, Reagan rocked out at the band Christmas concert. Stu and Riley watched Reagan in person, while Remy and I watched on the livestream from home. The late nights are hard on the little Boo.

Sweet Home Alabama

Our first weekend adventure was to Alabama. The kids and I drove down on Friday after school to meet up with Daddy. We spent the night in the hotel, and the next day the big kids got to see the house we are buying. I have been so anxious for them to see the new town and new house. A lot was riding on their impressions, at least that’s how it felt.

Luckily, they love the house. Unfortunately, I do not have many photos to share yet. Reagan specifically told me not to post the photo of them on the front porch (insert eye roll), and I only took these of Riley inside the house.

The big kids spent the entire time on their phones. Reagan was FaceTiming friends. Riley gave my mom and dad a tour of the house. Remy spent most of the time going up and down the stairs.

A Dollywood Christmas, December 2020

Well, kind of. We jetted off to Dollywood for the weekend with some of our extended family. It was a chilly weekend of fun, laughter and thrill rides with lots of cousins.

Our crew stayed in a hotel, while the other families rented a cabin. Reagan actually stayed at the house with her cousins. In the mornings, we ate at our favorite breakfast joint: The Brick and Spoon. It’s amazing. I HIGHLY recommend it.

You know, I always think we aren’t doing anything “blog-worthy” until I try to fit a month’s worth of activities into one post. Since this one is quite lengthy, come back in a few for the second installment.

Thanks for reading!
