Mother’s Day 2021

It’s the hardest. But, without a doubt, becoming a Mommy was the best thing I’ve ever done. Since Mother’s Day was yesterday, I thought I’d write about my kids. Shocker, right? All the posts are about my children.

Ok, actually I was thinking about a funeral… stick with me. I was thinking about all the photos I have of Stu and the kids. And I was wondering if there are (m)any good ones of me with the kids. Like when I die, will they have fun photos to fondly remember me by? Or will they only have selfies that I took? So I made this little video montage while Remy was napping the other day.

*The video thumbnail won’t show up on Safari – insert eye roll.*

I love this video. It’s 6 minutes of fabulous memories. I love being a Mom. Some days are messy. Some are loud. Most are exhausting. All are worth every minute.

Mother’s Day 2021

When we were in North Carolina last week, I found these super cute Rae Dunn mugs at Homegoods. I told the big kids to get them for me for Mother’s Day. They did – because I bought them. *insert eye roll* Stu surprised me on Friday with beautiful flowers.

Normally, we go out for lunch after church. This year, we went home and grilled burgers. It was perfect.

Hang on…

I feel like I need to make this disclaimer: I am not complaining or passive-aggressive attacking my husband in this post. Hubs makes me feel special everyday. We are a good team. Marriage is a give-and-take. We have become MUCH better at helping each other out. So I don’t feel like I need a single day… I want Stu and the kids to appreciate me every single day of the year, not just the second Sunday in May. And I want Stu to feel appreciated every day, not just the third Sunday in June.

Last year, we were in lockdown for Mother’s Day. But it was fun.
